The Board of Cricket Control for India (BCCI) has announced the squad for the Zimbabwe Tour of Indian Cricket Team. The tour is scheduled for July 2024, and only a T20I Series will be played on this tour. BCCI has given rest to the senior players and most of the players who have participated in the ongoing T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies. Shubman Gill has come to the forefront after the squad announcement.

The Indian team will be without Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Rishabh Pant, Shivam Dube, or Mohammed Siraj. Who Will be the Coach of India on the Zimbabwe Tour?
It’s almost certain that Gautam Gambhir will be the next head coach of India’s senior men’s cricket team. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to officially confirm this. He will take over from Rahul Dravid after the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 ends in the West Indies and the USA.
Gautam Gambhir currently mentors the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team. Earlier this month, he had an interview with the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), which includes Ashok Malhotra, Jatin Paranjpe, and Sulakshana Naik. It seems they have agreed on terms. The BCCI will give Gambhir the freedom to choose his coaching staff. The announcement from the board is expected soon.
After the T20 World Cup ends, India will play a five-match T20I series in Zimbabwe. However, Gambhir won’t start coaching the national team right away. According to a PTI report, VVS Laxman, who leads the National Cricket Academy (NCA), will be the interim coach during that time.
India in T20 World Cup 2024
India has reached the semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2024 and is set to face the England Cricket Team on 27th June 2024. The match is scheduled to be played at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. However, there was a massive chance of rain that day, and Ravi Shastri said during the India vs Australia match that there was only a 20% chance that the semi-final 2 would take place. If that turns out to be the case, then India will directly qualify for the finals because of its run rate in Super 8.
