ICC has released the latest T20 rankings. Indian T20 team’s vice-captain and star, Hardik Pandya, has become the world’s number-one all-rounder. In the updated rankings, he shares the top spot jointly with Sri Lanka’s Wanindu Hasaranga. Hardik has moved up two places to equal the Sri Lankan star Wanindu Hasaranga. Hardik was rewarded for his splendid performance in the T20 World Cup 2024 final. In the final, Hardik dismissed the crucial wickets of Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller. Hardik had a fine tournament with both bat and ball, becoming the first Indian player to become the world’s number-one all-rounder in T20 cricket.
Hardik Pandya Played a Major Role for India in the T20 World Cup 2024
Hardik Pandya played impactful cameos with the bat in the lower order and achieved impressive success with the ball as well. When the team needed him, he accepted the challenge and took crucial wickets. He scored 144 runs at a strike rate of over 150 and also dismissed 11 batsmen. However, his most spectacular performance came in the final when he sent Heinrich Klaasen back to the pavilion in the 17th over, nearly securing victory against South Africa. Following this, Hardik bowled the final over and defended 16 runs, helping India clinch the ICC T20 World Cup title.
There have been significant fluctuations in the top 10 T20 all-rounder rankings. Players like Marcus Stoinis, Sikandar Raza, Shakib Al Hasan, and Liam Livingstone have benefited by moving up one place. Mohammad Nabi, on the other hand, has dropped out of the top five after a loss of four positions.

Jasprit Bumrah Rises in the T20 Bowler Rankings
After performing exceptionally well in the T20 World Cup, India’s star fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, is close to entering the top 10 in the men’s T20 bowling rankings. He took 15 wickets and had an impressive economy rate of 4.18. Bumrah received the Player of the Tournament award for his outstanding performance. Currently, he holds the 12th position, his highest ranking since 2020. Adil Rashid leads the rankings with 675 rating points in T20 bowling.
Kuldeep Yadav has climbed into the top 10 ICC rankings for bowlers, reaching the joint eighth position with the benefits of three wickets. Additionally, Arshdeep Singh has moved up to the 13th position in his career’s best performance after topping the wicket chart in the T20 World Cup, while Tabraiz Shamsi has moved up five places to reach the top 15 with five wickets.
