Phil Salt is an English cricketer born on August 28, 1996, in Bodelwyddan, Wales. When he was very young, Salt’s family moved to Barbados, where he was fascinated by the cricket that was played by West Indian players. His attacking nature with the bat showcases that he has adapted to the Caribbean way of batting in the limited-overs format of the game.

Salt comes from a family of sportspersons. His father played rugby in various local leagues in England. However, he could not make it big. Sam Salt, the brother of Phil Salt, is a former tennis player and currently a coach in the same sport. He also has a sister named Dani Salt. Phil Salt bats right-handed and also keeps the wickets, but his main role in the team is as a batsman. He could also bowl right-arm medium pace if needed.
