No Reserve Day; Teams Need to Play at Least 10 Overs Each to Get a Result

There is no backup day for the second semifinal, but they will add an extra 250 minutes to make sure we finish the match. The match will start at 10:30 AM and go until 5:50 PM local time if there are rain delays. Usually, in T20 matches, they need to play at least 5 overs to decide a result. But for this semifinal, both teams must play at least 10 overs for there to be a result. If the match gets completely washed out by rain, India will move forward because they were at the top of the points table in Super 8 Group 1.

Why is there no Reserve Day for Semi-Final 2 in T20 World Cup 2024

The ICC announced there is no extra day for the second semi-final due to the tournament’s schedule. The final match is set for June 29th. However, there is a reserve day planned for the first semi-final in case of any interruptions due to rain or other reasons. Fans are criticising the apex cricketing body for its biasness and arguing that ICC has failed to conduct the tournament in the best way possible.

Earlier, the pitch of Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, USA, was heavily criticised by the fans and experts due to its unplayable nature, which produced many boring matches. India played most of its group-stage matches in New York, and now they have to deal with the no reserve day policy for the second semi-final.
